Our in person story begins in an unexpected place—on the side of a volcano during a marathon. That moment sparked a friendship built on shared challenges and experiences. And even though we already followed each other prior to the Kauai Marathon, meeting on the side of a volcano in person only strengthened our friendship. As an introvert, Carey has embraced authenticity and found success by staying true to herself.

After her daughter’s high school graduation, a new phase of life began. Big questions arose—should she return to school or re-enter the workforce? Instead, an unexpected invitation to a network marketing call opened the door to a new path. Without knowing what to expect, she stepped into the world of entrepreneurship and discovered a passion for helping others.

Embracing Consistency and Mindset Shifts While Social Selling as an Introvert

Success didn’t happen overnight. Carey speaks about the importance of consistency, even for introverts who prefer to stay behind the scenes. Showing up, even in small ways, created momentum in her business.

A powerful mindset shift took place. Growth, she realized, is a process. Carey compares her journey to marathon running. Just like endurance sports require resilience, entrepreneurship demands patience, grit, and the willingness to push forward despite challenges.

The Power of Authenticity at Any Age

Carey’s perspective on aging brings a refreshing take. Turning 50 offered a sense of freedom. Insecurities and fears faded as she embraced her true self.

Society often undervalues older generations, but Carey challenges that narrative. Her story proves that passion and purpose are not defined by age. Instead of stepping back, she stepped into a new phase with confidence and drive.

Overcoming Setbacks and Pivoting with Purpose

Every entrepreneur faces obstacles. Carey’s biggest challenge came when her company changed its business model, disrupting her income. It could have been a devastating loss. Instead, she used it as a chance to pivot.

Adapting to change wasn’t easy, but it reignited her sense of purpose. New opportunities aligned with her skills and passions, proving that setbacks often lead to unexpected growth.

A Message of Resilience and Empowerment

Through every challenge, Carey stayed true to herself. The pressure to conform exists, but authenticity always shines through.

Her mission is clear: to inspire women over 50 to redefine their stories. Living boldly and passionately at any stage of life is possible. Success isn’t about perfection—it’s about persistence and embracing what makes you unique.

A Mantra for Moving Forward for Social Selling as an Introvert

As this episode closes, one phrase lingers:

“You may see me struggle, but you will never see me quit.”

This powerful mantra serves as a rallying cry for those stepping outside their comfort zones. Whether in entrepreneurship or personal growth, Carey’s journey is a blueprint for resilience, confidence, and authenticity.

Final Thoughts

This episode is more than a conversation about business—it’s about embracing change, staying true to yourself, and pursuing new possibilities at any stage of life.

Carey’s story proves that introverts can thrive in social selling, that setbacks can lead to new beginnings, and that personal growth never has an age limit.
