Global Running Day:
Since global running day is here, I wanted to share some inspiration. Earlier this year I learned that I was selected to be an ambassador for Momentum Jewelry – what an honor. When I found out, I was also suffering from Shingles due to a lot of stress in my life.
I assume most everyone knows this about me, but if you didn’t, I run marathons, for fun, in my free time. I don’t run with a phone, so there are never really any pictures of my runs. In this day and age, and being a photographer, it’s hard to imagine. But, running has always been my “me time.” It’s therapeutic in so many ways. The world is so full of noise, especially in this day and age of everyone wanting to be connected. It’s my time to shut down my phone, lace up my shoes, and just run free. I have been running this way for almost 30 years now, so why change?
Last year was a rough year. I was getting burnt out putting a lot of pressure on myself instead of enjoying the run. Run often, run long, but never out run your joy of running had always been a motto of mine. But, sometimes, we all get sidetracked. I’m happy to report that I’m back on track in 2018. I shared some thoughts on self-care and my new motto, Worry Less Run More on the Momentum Jewelry blog for global running day.
Training for the 2018 Kauai Marathon is moving along. I was introduced to Momentum Jewelry after the 2015 Kauai Marathon by another runner, fellow Texan, and now friend. Thanks Carey!! You’re awesome. And, if you’re running Kauai this year and want some pictures on the beach, email me, let’s chat. 🙂
