Coronavirus Safety Guidelines for Portrait Photography

There really are no Coronavirus safety guidelines for portrait photography. At least none that I could find anywhere. So, I am basing this off of my research, and policies put in place locally. Also, off my absolute desire to put client safety above all else.

If you have worked with me in the past, you know we tend to get together in person more than once throughout the course of working together. That information is all laid out on the “experience” page.

I will wear a mask to protect you.

My goal is to provide the best service to you. However, we know that our world has changed. None of us has ever lived through a pandemic. Yet, here we are, doing our best to balance everything. It hasn’t been easy on any of us.

First and foremost, it is whatever you are comfortable with. If we have a session scheduled and you’d feel better rescheduling until a later date, that is totally fine.

I will maintain at least 6 feet distance between us.

Second, it is no longer required to get together in person either before the session for a consult, or after the session for your “in-person” ordering appointment. This is done over Zoom now. Likewise, we can walk through your closet together over Zoom if you need help deciding on outfit choices. Of course, Facetime works too.

Next, we will decide on an outdoor location that has plenty of room. Or better yet, your backyard. I have discussed in detail the benefits of using your backyard for photography sessions before.

If you have worked with me in the past, you know that keeping 6 feet distance is not an issue. My go-to lens hasn’t changed, therefore the quality of your images will still be what you have come to know and love.

Finally, delivery of your new art. If you are local to me, I will still deliver by hand, but will leave them at the door. We will coordinate a drop off time to ensure that you are home. Contactless delivery. That’s a thing now. If your print order also included digital files, you will be provided a link to an online gallery. You can download all your files from there. Lastly, if you are out of town, I will mail your art to you safely.

Also, I have always been a “clean-freak” when it comes to keeping my gear and everything I use clean. That hasn’t changed, and has probably increased. Handzies is one of my favorite product clients and I use them like crazy too! Now, coupled with sanitizer, everything is clean!

I hope this has helped assure you that safety is my priority. If you have any other questions about any of this, or are ready to book, let’s connect.
