Best of 2017 Austin Portrait Photographer

Finally! It’s here. This may be a good problem to have. There are so many best of 2017 Austin portrait photographer moments this year. It’s been really hard to narrow them down.

Now, I’m not saying all of 2017 was perfect. The year had it’s struggles, but the highlights outweigh those hard times for sure.

The bad.

First things first, let’s get the bad stuff out of the way. I mention this stuff, because our personal lives shape so much of what we do with our hearts. I pour my heart into my business, so this matters. This spring, we lost both my grandmother at 93 years old, and her big brother, at 97 years old. Then, this fall, we learned that my daddy has cancer. We are still dealing with that, so hopefully it will have a good outcome.

The Good.

That’s enough of the bad stuff. Let’s move on to the good stuff. The best stuff. The best of 2017 Austin portrait photographer moments started at the beginning of the year. My business was actually named best Austin portrait photography by Expertise.

Then, in March, one of my favorite and personal highlights of my career happened. I was published in The New York Times! I still find it hard to believe, but here’s how it happened.

Getting real.

Time to get real. When I started this blog post almost a week ago, I thought this would be easy. Clearly, it is not. I have way too many favorites from this past year. I could load up on many, many more images. But, I decided to stop myself.

I limit the number of weddings I take per year because I know how much work you and I both put into them. I like to dedicate my all to each and every wedding I take on. 2017 reminded me how incredibly special weddings are. Also in 2017 I met some new families and reconnected with some long time clients. So, here are just a few of my favorite memories from the past year.

2018 sessions are already taking place, and I am working on some new and exciting adventures for my business. I hope you continue to follow along. There is never a bad time to book a family session. So, if you’re interested, let’s chat.
